Dr. Caulker is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Head of the Energy Planning unit at the Ministry of Energy. As Head of the Planning Unit, Dr. Caulker supports the development of a National Electrification Strategy and least-cost geospatial plan. Dr. David Caulker works with counterpart planning unit staff to coordinate the preparation and updating of sector studies, including the Integrated Resource Plan, Distribution Master Plan, Renewable integration grid studies, as relevant. His research interests include energy modelling, power system transient stability analysis, power system studies, electromagnetic transients, high voltage systems, lightning protection and grounding systems.
